PRODUCT DIVERSIFICATION INTO NEW CATEGORY

THE CHALLENGE
Building on the success of their global brand in the consumer health & beauty sector, our client identified a gap in the petcare market and developed a range of pet grooming products in response to consumer demand. They needed to verify the true benefits of the prototype products, to support the development of product claims.
THE SOLUTION
130 dog owners were recruited whose pets experienced shedding and 130 whose dogs experienced matting/knotting. All were place with a prototype product for a 14 day home usage test. Respondents completed an online survey and given the opportunity to film a short video selfie to summarise their experiences whilst using the products.
THE OUTCOME
The results helped develop strong consumer led claims, and supported marketing content for the product launch. Both brushes are now available on the UK market.
